Cecilia M. Plaza, PharmD, PhD
Cecilia M. Plaza, PharmD, PhD is currently the Senior Director of Academic Affairs for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Her activities in the area of academic affairs focus on curricular and institutional quality improvement, instructional design, and assessment. She has program development responsibilities focusing on faculty development in teaching and assessment. Dr. Plaza is the head of the Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Education (CAPE) which is responsible for producing educational outcomes for pharmacy graduates and associated resources.
Dr. Plaza received her doctor of pharmacy degree in 2000, her masters in pharmaceutical sciences in 2003, and her doctor of philosophy degree in 2006 from the University of Arizona. Her M.S. and Ph.D. had a concentration in pharmaceutical education with a minor in Educational Psychology and included research in experiential education and curricular evaluation. She is a 2000-2002 Kappa Epsilon-American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education Nellie Wakeman Graduate Fellowship Scholar as well as 2005-2006 American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education Pre-Doctoral Fellow.
